Coup
Color Guide
One PAIR of coups is awarded
for each night camped except for summer camp where one pair is given.
Green - Warm weather (above 32) Fair Weather
Black - Warm weather (above 32) and Rain at some point
Light Blue - Cool/Cold weather (below 32) Fair Weather
Blue - Cool/Cold weather (below 32) and Rain at some point
White - Cold weather (below 32) and Snow
Clear - Temperature below zero degrees Fahrenheit
Wood Cube Coup - Camporee
Red - Long-term Scout Camp
Orange - Temperatures over 100 degrees
Red and White Swirl - National Camping Award
White Igloo - Klondike Derby overnight
Canoes - Canoe Trips (of the weather-appropriate color)
Boots - Hikes of 5 miles or more (of the weather-appropriate color)
Stars - Military bases and governmental sites
Tan - For a Cave trip, we say "Mud"
Dark Blue - Special non-camping troop activities: swims, lock-ins, movies
Gold - Troop good-turns and other service activities
All youths and adults registered in the Troop are entitled to coups.
The Scoutmaster may award special coups to recognize specific events, e.g.
shell casings for pistol shooting New
Eagle Scouts also provide special coups to those who help them with their Eagle
Project and/or Eagle Court of Honor |
