Service Award
2002 Recipient - Joni Glenn
The December Court of Honor was the epitome of efficiency.
Many awards, a visit by some second year Webelos, holiday treats, Friends of
Scouting presentation and the meeting completed in an hour. The highlight of the
evening was the presentation of the Bill Glenn Scouter Award for the first time.
We'll have a web page dedicated to this award soon, but the first award went to
Joni Glenn. Joni's family was in attendance. Emotions ran high with Jamiel and
Joni both shedding some tears.
We had new Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class and Star Scouts. Chris Halsey
became an Assistant Scoutmaster, fresh off completing his Eagle, and turning 18
two days later.
Coups were given for attendance, trash pick-up, Scouting for Food, 12 month
camping awards, along with many Merit Badges.
Melvin Krohne received his God and Country Award. Melvin has served as
Protestant Chaplain at H.Roe Bartle for six consecutive years in addition to
being the Troop chaplain and putting in many hours in his church.
Jamiel finally got his Sea Base slide show shown and we munched on the many
goodies provided by our Scouts.
