Katy Trail Campout
November 10-11, 2001
We couldn't have asked for better weather in
November for a bike ride. Riding the Katy Trail with the capital in the
background was a joy. There was a short trip and a longer trip offered. Our
smallest scout elected to take the long trip but due to mechanical problems, he
was given a lift by Mr. Davenport back to camp before dark. Two flat tires were
repaired by Mr. Goertz and his pit crew. Lunch was delivered by Mr. Davenport.
Most leaders started the evening sleeping in the open but temperatures dropped
below freezing and many were found sneaking into tents before the sun rose. Mrs.
Comninellis joined the biking and lapped everyone several times. She jogged 10
miles after she completed the ride and then drove back to Liberty to compete in
a triathlon.
