Fourteen Scouts and Leaders from Troop 376 helped a member of our community in need.

Rebuilding Together Liberty is one of about 90 chapters across the United States. It is
just like the Christmas in October program. Physically disabled or financially challenged home
owners can apply for assistance with home maintenance or repair issues.

This October, twelve homes and one church were worked on by nearly 150 volunteers. One group was Troop 376.

Other groups included college students from Rockhurst and Jewell, LUMC adult
Sunday school classes, Lutheran Church members, Liberty Sertoma and other groups.

The work completed included clearing brush and trees from an overgrown backyard. We hauled away seven (7) pick-up loads of debris and reseeded the backyard, what an improvement! The homeowner is an elderly gentleman with a respiratory ailment that will not allow him to do heavy lifting and
yard work.
Thank you Scouts and Scouters, you truly did your good turn that day!
Hopefully, we can
widen the good, and encourage other troops to participate next year. |
